2nd ITT Workshop

ITT Workshop on Information Technology and Open Mobile Networks in Tourism and will be held in San Sebastian, Spain, November 19 & 20 2009.

New breakthroughs in information technology and tourism will continue over the next decades to bring wide ranging applications that will continue to drive innovation and challenge the scientific community for information technology in sustainable tourism development.

Understanding Information technology and tourism in open mobile networks is one of the primary challenges in rder to develop successful novel tourism applications to operate in the Future Internet. The present internet tructural limitations in terms of scalability, mobility, flexibility, security, trust of networks and services are ncreasingly being recognised. From a network perspective, this entails a need to rethink architectures which a ider variety of services types can be supported. This takes account of innovative systems as well as scalable, open middleware necessary to put real data into the context of various Internet applications with event rocessing, separating and filtering.
It is intended that scholars enlighten the mid-to-long term drivers for research priorities identified for this call and resent the results of research documenting the nature of the defined arena. These drivers include more unctionality and performances, better scalability, adaptability and learning capabilities of the IT systems in Tourism.

The aim of the Workshop is to share knowledge, experience and ideas regarding the various facets of the topic, as well as to encourage/facilitate innovative and in-depth analysis and to overcoming existing technology barriers. All of this will entail to work further on engineering of context-aware and easy-to-use ICT systems in open mobile
networks.

The Workshop will follow a format supporting in-depth discussion and collaboration of participants. As such, each ession will include extended presentations (20 - 30 minutes) and time for further discussion. In addition, it is xpected that the participants will receive the full length papers (e.g., 10 - 20 pages) prior to the conference in rder to support a more informed discussion. Papers are invited on the various themes indicated below:
· Middleware architectures;
· Context-Awareness;
· Mobile Recommender Systems;
· Context-assisted search;
· Mobile Social Networks;
· Location-based services;
· mCommerce and m2m applications;
· Trends in mTourism business models;
· mCommunication; Emotional and persuasive computing
